A Montauk man is in the county jail in Riverside facing a felony charge of criminal contempt, after allegedly violating an order of protection obtained by his brother.

Two women waiting in their taxicabs at the Montauk train station Friday for the arrival of the Cannonball had a brawl that ended with both of them charged with felony assault.

An East Hampton woman, Angelique M. Smith, 39, is facing two felony charges after a domestic altercation with her boyfriend on Aug. 22. East Hampton Town police accused Ms. Smith of repeatedly striking Levy Mwanza before hurling a flowerpot at his head and smashing the front window of his 2003 Ford.

Police were called to the Indian Wells Beach parking lot on the morning of Sept. 4, where Steve Dallal of Scarsdale, N.Y., had gone for an hour’s walk, leaving his wallet in the door panel of his unlocked 2006 Mercedes Benz.

The owner of one of the larger taxi companies in Montauk, Exclusive Taxi, was arrested the night of Sept. 6 on aggravated drunken driving charges after the cab he was operating, according to police, struck another car on Montauk Highway on Napeague, then sped off.

Bobby Conte Thornton, 24, a recent transplant from the West Coast to Manhattan, was charged with drunken driving early Saturday morning on Cedar Street in East Hampton.

A Sag Harbor man, David Wisner, 42, accused by police of choking his girlfriend early Friday morning until she passed out, was arrested later that day on a felony charge of strangulation.
