Larocca to Challenge Mulcahy for Sag Harbor Mayor

James Larocca, a Sag Harbor Village trustee, is challenging Mayor Kathleen Mulcahy in the June 15 election. The mayor "ran on the promise of developing an overarching master plan, and the absence of such is one of the biggest problems we have in combating this wave of money and developers that are now swarming all over the west side of town," he said.

East Hampton Movie Theater Set to Reopen

After more than 14 months of darkened screens and empty seats, the East Hampton movie theater will reopen on Friday, May 21, according to Manhattan Skyline, the company that leases the building to Regal Cinemas. 

Moderna in Montauk and Vaccines for Young Teens

Local officials and health professionals continue to expand access to Covid-19 vaccines on the South Fork. Stony Brook Southampton Hospital will hold a pop-up vaccination clinic at the Montauk Playhouse on Thursday to administer the Moderna vaccine and there is a pediatric vaccination clinic slated for next week in East Hampton for children 12 to 18, following the C.D.C.'s emergency use authorization of the Pfizer vaccine for that age group on Wednesday.

Public Health Policy and Preparedness Training for New Yorkers

With the goal of building "an informed network of community health leaders across the state," New York State has established the Citizen Public Health Training Course, which is open to all New Yorkers who would like to learn about and prepare for public health emergencies.

Art Barge Honored as it Reopens

The Art Barge and the D’Amico Studio and Archive will reopen this spring, after remaining closed for the 2020 season. The 2021 class and workshop schedule was issued on Friday, and registration is open. Classes include painting, orientation to creativity. Workshops include collage, pastel, and watercolor painting. There are also classes for children.
