An East Hampton man was arrested last week about a month after police said he tackled and choked a former girlfriend on the sidewalk in Montauk.
Rian J. O’Dwyer, 22, of East Hampton was behind the wheel of a 2013 Toyota Tundra traveling on Route 114 near Whooping Hollow Road on Sept. 9 at about 3:40 a.m. when East Hampton Town police said they noticed the left taillight was out. Police said the driver was speeding, had an obstructed view, and that he failed to signal a right turn.
The Amagansett Fire Department dedicated its new state-of-the-art ambulance, which was purchased with a $250,000 state grant, at a ceremony at the firehouse on Sept. 12.
Sag Harbor Village police arrested three people for alleged drunken driving over the weekend.
