Unwanted, Refused to Leave

Denis Diaz-Gavilanes of East Hampton, 26, was charged on Dec. 18 with criminal trespass, a class A misdemeanor. According to East Hampton Town police, he entered a house at 13 West Drive in East Hampton without permission and refused to leave when asked. After arresting him, police discovered a small ziplock-style plastic bag in his pocket containing a powdery white substance, later determined to be cocaine, and he was subsequently charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class D felony. According to police records, he remains in custody.

For allegedly defying two separate orders of protection issued by Town Justice Lisa R. Rana in September and Justice Steven Tekulsky in November, Juan Diego Veravasquez of East Hampton, 28, has been charged with two misdemeanor counts of criminal contempt. On Dec. 11 at around 10:30 p.m., town police said, he was involved in a domestic disturbance at 719 Route 114 in Sag Harbor. He was released after posting $1,000 bail.
