Barbara Oeffner, an East Hampton native and a 10th-generation descendant of Nathaniel Dominy, one of the town’s early settlers renowned for his woodworking and clockmaking skills, died on Jan. 24 in Moore Haven, Fla. She was 74.
The Town of East Hampton's chief fire marshal, Buzzy Browne, this week reminded residents and visitors that a new town regulation governing beach fires requires such fires to be built in metal containers rather than dug in pits in the sand.
The Mannix Studio of Art will lead family tours and action-painting workshops at the Pollock-Krasner House and Studio in Springs on Thursdays and Fridays through Sept. 6. After learning some background on the Abstract Expressionists Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner, participants will have a chance to paint a canvas in Pollock’s style.
