East Hampton Town and Sag Harbor Village Justice Courts are closed temporarily after an employee tested positive for Covid-19 earlier this week. Some 155 people who visited the courts between July 6 and July 20 have been notified.
Three and a half years after East Hampton Town Police Chief Michael Sarlo told the town board that the town's emergency communications system had reached the end of its useful life and was in need of a major overhaul, "we're slowly but surely getting there," he said on Tuesday.
School officials in Amagansett, Montauk, Springs, East Hampton, Sag Harbor, and Southampton have all confirmed increased registrations of new students over the last few weeks.
As we enter the apex of the dog days of summer, the fishing scene has shifted into a lower and slower gear. "While some weakfish, porgy, and a few kingfish are around locally, the better fishing now is off to the east where the waters are cooler," said Ken Morse, the proprietor of Tight Lines Tackle in Sag Harbor.
