Activities at SoFo 

The Friends of the Long Pond Greenbelt and the South Fork Natural History Museum and Nature Center will lead a full-moon hike tonight at 8:30 p.m. to observe the Strawberry Moon, the nickname given to the full lunar phase in June. Free and open to all ages, but registration is required at [email protected].

John J. Finello has been hired as superintendent and principal of the Sagaponack School, and Christine Schnell has been named its district treasurer. The school board unanimously voted on Tuesday to appoint them.

Update, 3:20 p.m.: Montauk Highway in Amagansett has been reopened, according to the East Hampton Town Police Department.

Walking along the weathered docks of Montauk Harbor on Saturday morning, it was nice to see that a great many boats, both of a commercial and charter/open craft nature, were out to sea on a warm, breezy day. Fishing is a tough business in good times, but it was an even greater challenge during the pandemic to secure much-needed income. Thankfully, that seems to have changed.
