East Hampton Town police arrested three women on drunken-driving charges in the last week.

Sag Harbor Village police assisted the State Department of Transportation in conducting safety checks on 22 commercial vehicles last Thursday.

An East Hampton man was arrested last week about a month after police said he tackled and choked a former girlfriend on the sidewalk in Montauk.

Rian J. O’Dwyer, 22, of East Hampton was behind the wheel of a 2013 Toyota Tundra traveling on Route 114 near Whooping Hollow Road on Sept. 9 at about 3:40 a.m. when East Hampton Town police said they noticed the left taillight was out. Police said the driver was speeding, had an obstructed view, and that he failed to signal a right turn.
