Specials at La Fondita

La Fondita in Amagansett is now open seven days a week and has announced a new lineup of daily specials. Monday’s offerings include flautas de tinga, crispy tortillas filled with chicken tinga and topped with lettuce, tomatoes, crema, and queso fresca.

Taco Tuesday features a choice of barbacoa de res with onions and cilantro; cochinita pibil with jalapeno, carrot, and cilantro slaw, and campechano with onions and cilantro. Barbacoa de res is available on Wednesdays as tacos or a platter. Thursday’s special is a smash burger taco with seasoned fried potatoes, which consists of a flour tortilla, Monterey Jack cheese, chipotle mayonnaise, shredded lettuce, pico de gallo, and pickled jalapenos.

Friday through Sunday specials include tacos al pastor (marinated pork cooked with pineapple) topped with radish, onion, cilantro, and avocado salsa served in a hand-pressed corn tortilla; tacos de birria de res (chile-braised beef served with consommé) with onions and cilantro in a hand-pressed corn tortilla, and quesabirria, a hand-pressed corn tortilla filled with chile-braised beef and Monterey Jack cheese, griddled and served with consommé.

Japanese Market in Montauk

Maguro Japanese Market is now open seven days a week at 12 South Etna Avenue Montauk. Among the specialty sushi rolls are salmon avocado, shrimp tempura, crazy Maguro, and a sweetheart roll with spicy tuna. Sushi entrees include the love boat, a massive platter consisting of the chef’s choice of sushi and sashimi with a shrimp tempura roll and a rainbow roll.

A variety of salads, fresh juices, fruit teas, and bubble teas are also served. A Google search for Maguro Japanese Market leads to the takeout menu.

Little Charli’s New Season

Little Charli, known for its wood-fired pizzas, pastas, and more, is starting its second year at 44 Three Mile Harbor Road in East Hampton. Among its offerings are the Charli Caesar salad, blistered artisanal pizzas topped with truffles, portobello mushrooms, and spicy soppressata, and a variety of freshly made pasta dishes.

The restaurant will also be offering pizza-making classes on Sunday afternoons this summer.
