Zoe Cohen married her longtime beau, Levi Shaw-Faber, on Saturday afternoon at 5 at a stunning spot next to Georgica Pond.

The couple, who live in Brooklyn, met in Montauk in 2009 at the MTK Cafe. A best friend, Adrian Simon, who was also a wedding officiant, was playing a concert there that they both attended. The same band, Yo!, reunited to play dance music at the end of the evening on Saturday.

A neighbor of the bride’s parents had graciously offered her own property for the ceremony and reception; drinks, dinner, and dancing were at Ms. Cohen’s parents’ house on Briar Patch Road.

Mr. Simon and the groom’s cousin, Rabbi Jenna Shaw of Washington, D.C., presided at the ceremony, which took place under a huppah, the canopy used during Jewish marriages.

Zoe Katarina Cohen is the daughter of Stacey Fredericks and Jonathan Cohen. Mr. Shaw-Faber is a son of Rachelle Shaw and Daniel Faber of Dayton Lane in East Hampton.

Ms. Cohen, a creative consultant, graduated with a B.A. in cinema and media studies from Carleton College in Minnesota. Mr. Shaw-Faber, an architectural designer, graduated with a B.A. in environmental and urban studies from Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y., and earned an M.Arch. at the Yale School of Architecture.

The bride wore several outfits over the wedding weekend: a dress by Roisin Pierce of Dublin at a beach picnic on Friday, a dress by Rikke Hubert to walk down the aisle, and one by Cecilie Bahnsen for the cake cutting and after party. The last two designers are from Copenhagen. Jasmine Chamberlain of Springs designed her bouquet, which held daisies and cosmos.

After the ceremony, the couple sailed off briefly in an 1885 Gil Smith-designed Great South Bay catboat that was restored by Wooden Boatworks in Greenport.

The cocktail hour included seafood platters and tables of rainbow-colored vegetables, among other goodies. Their cake was made by Paris Starn, who produced a strawberry shortcake tower with marzipan-covered spoons with which to pour preserved strawberries and whipped cream over each individual cake.

Ms. Cohen and Mr. Shaw-Faber will sail their own 19-foot sailboat to Shelter Island this week for a stay at the Pridwin Hotel.

The Sweet Smell of Nostalgia at Sagaponack General

Stepping into the new Sagaponack General Store, which reopened yesterday after being closed since 2020, is a sweet experience, and not just because there’s a soft-serve ice cream station on the left and what promises to be the biggest penny candy selection on the South Fork on your right, but because it’s like seeing an old friend who, after some struggle, made it big. Really, really big.
