Thiele Appointed to Rules Committee
New York State Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie has appointed Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele Jr. to serve on the Assembly Standing Committee on Rules.
Sex Abuse of Child Charged
A 34-year-old man accused of sexually abusing a child over an almost two-year period was arrested last week. The victim, whose name has been withheld, gave a statement to detectives on Feb. 3.
Shirley Anderson, 90
Shirley Elizabeth Anderson, a devoted parishioner of the East Hampton Presbyterian Church and frequent patron of the East Hampton Library, died on Feb. 1 at home on Newtown Lane.
