Following extensive testing of soil, sediment, and surface water and groundwater for hazardous and toxic wastes at Camp Hero State Park, the United States Army Corps of Engineers has determined that no further remedial action is needed at the former defense site.
October 21 through 25 is National School Bus Safety Week, and police departments and school districts throughout Suffolk County are observing it with special enforcement and reminders to drivers, students, and parents about the rules of the road where school buses are concerned.
