Last week's Star had an account of an East Hampton woman who witnessed a man removing two signs from in front of her Town Lane house on Oct. 16. The man has since been arrested and charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor. He is Salvatore Ditroia, 67, of Southampton.

I am writing to express my deep gratitude for the extraordinary work of our East Hampton Town fire marshal’s office.
In this Covid crisis, operating our restaurant, Anthony’s Pancake House in Montauk, created new challenges, including applying for an outside seating permit.
Bridgehampton School District officials on Tuesday closed the school midday after a parent reported early in the day that their child had tested positive for Covid-19. Ten adults and 10 students will have to quarantine.
