Italian Wine Dinner

The 1770 House in East Hampton will host a five-course prix fixe wine dinner with an Italian theme next Thursday. The evening will feature wine pairings by Michael Cohen, the venue’s wine director, and music by Vito Lombardo, who will sing Italian songs by Frank Sinatra and others.

The meal will begin with rice croquettes paired with a 2023 prosecco di Valdobbiadene Superiore. Prosciutto de Parma with fennel-apple salad, preserved cherries, hazelnuts, and Parmigiano Reggiano will follow. It will be served with 2023 Petite Arvine, Grosjean, Vallée d’Aoste.

The third course will be tortelloni with slow-braised wild boar, butternut squash, and winter truffle, accompanied by 2023 Nebbiolo “Spanna” Colline Novaresi, Castello Conti. Bistecca alla Fiorentina will come next, paired with 2017 Brunello di Montalcino, Casanuova delle Cerbaie.

The meal will conclude with cannoli with chocolate, Sicilian pistachio, blood orange, and Italian sheep’s milk ricotta, accompanied by Affogato Martini “Milano.”

The cost is $150, excluding tax and gratuity.

Smoked Hams

Townline BBQ in Sagaponack is smoking a limited number of cured 14-pound bone-in hams that are now available for preorder only for Christmas and New Year’s Day. Each ham costs $160, will serve approximately 20 people, and comes with reheating instructions and a house-made glaze.

The hams can be ordered in house or by calling the restaurant at 631-537-2271. They can be picked up starting Dec. 21. Homemade German chocolate cakes are also available and require a seven-day preorder.

Specials at La Fondita

La Fondita in Amagansett, which is open Thursday through Monday from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., has announced a slate of new daily specials. Monday’s offering is a fajitas plate, which can be ordered with chicken, shrimp, or grilled beef. Tacos are on the menu on Thursdays, with a choice of birria de res with onions and cilantro, al pastor with avocado salsa, campechano with onions and cilantro, or a smash burger taco and fried potatoes.

Two types of chiles rellenos are available on Fridays, one with shrimp, the other with Jack cheese battered in egg whites. Saturday and Sunday specials are tacos al pastor, tacos de birria de res, birria de res, and quesabirria.

Cooking Classes

Silver Spoon Kitchen at 19 Race Lane in East Hampton is offering classes in Asian cuisine, grazing stations, hors d’oeuvres, how to make a three-course dinner, and fresh mozzarella making. The cost is $80 per class; registration is by email to [email protected].
