Winter Produce

Winter shares are available in Quail Hill Farm’s community-supported agriculture program. Shares, which cost $470 for a family or $290 for an individual, include biweekly pickups of root vegetables such as potatoes, carrots, turnips, and parsnips, greens like kale and chard, dried beans, smoked peppers, herbs, and other seasonal or preserved produce as well the opportunity to harvest salad greens weekly in the farm’s greenhouses. Pickup days are Fridays and Saturdays with the next ones on Dec. 6 and 7.

Specials

The Highway Restaurant in East Hampton has several dinner specials planned for tomorrow through Sunday. The entrees include short rib agnolotti with Brussels sprout leaves and a parsnip puree for $32, and pan-seared diver scallops with a sweet potato and apple hash for $42. Peking duck with pancakes, hoisin sauce, scallions, and cucumbers is $59 and available tomorrow only.

Fresno in East Hampton, which is open Thursdays through Mondays, is offering food and drink specials from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Bar bites are $5, and include fried calamari with sriracha aioli, mussels in a coconut habanero broth with chimichurri crostini, and hummus with grilled flatbread and marinated olives. A cocktail or a glass of wine is $10, and beer is $5.

Say Cheese (or Caviar), Day or Night

Self Provisions, a storefront attached to Cavaniola’s Gourmet Cheese in Sag Harbor, is “always open,” as is proclaimed by an illuminated sign on the wall at the entrance. Two large, brightly lit vending machines dominate the space, with offerings ranging from sea salt crackers and slabs of French butter to jars of caviar and curated gift boxes — and, of course, cheese.
