Thanksgiving to Go

The Silver Lining Diner and Food and Co. in Southampton are teaming up to offer a catering menu for Thanksgiving. A turkey dinner for six is $249 and comes with gravy, a choice of vegetable or cornbread stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, baked sweet potatoes with melted marshmallows, sautéed green beans with toasted almonds, pumpkin pie, and dinner rolls. An oven-roasted turkey alone is $90 for eight people, and $149 for 12. The menu also features à la carte appetizers such as chicken liver pâté for $12 a quart, a dozen deviled eggs for $24, soups, and salads. Side dishes for six are $25 and include roast brussels sprouts, cauliflower au gratin, and creamed spinach. For dessert, a pecan, banana cream, pumpkin, or apple pie is $45. Orders, with a deposit of 50 percent, must be placed Thursday, and are by calling Food and Co. Pickup or delivery is available on Thanksgiving Day for a $50 fee. The L & W Market in Bridgehampton has ready-to-cook turkeys for $97.50 for six to eight people, and $142.50 for 10 to 12. A pint of gravy costs $10.99, and side dishes include croissant celery sage stuffing with sausage for $12.99 a quart, and an order of macaroni and cheese that serves up to four for $14.99. Appetizers include shrimp cocktail for $16, and lobster salad for $64 a pound. For dessert, an apple crisp or a chocolate bread pudding, which serve eight to 10, are $60. Orders must be placed by Sunday, and picked up on Wednesday between 3 and 7 p.m., or Thursday between 9 and 11 a.m.

The Pike mobile kitchen at the Milk Pail farm stand in Water Mill is also offering a Thanksgiving catering menu to make the meal easier on hosts. A roast turkey is $18 per pound, gravy and cranberry sauce are $10 a pint or $20 a quart, and side dishes such as honey-glazed baby carrots, stuffing, sweet potato gratin, mashed potatoes, and collard greens are $20 a quart, $45 for half a pan, and $80 for a full pan. Orders must be placed by Sunday at 631-566-2554. Pies to finish the meal are available at the Milk Pail.

Smokin’ Wolf in East Hampton will prepare Thanksgiving dinners with turkey, cornbread, cranberry sauce, gravy, side dishes, and pie for up to 16 people. The turkey can be roasted, smoked, or fried. Pricing is based on the number of guests. À la carte side dishes include stuffing (with or without sausage), roasted beets, butternut squash, and mashed potatoes. Appetizers include jumbo shrimp cocktail, stuffed mushrooms, and pigs in a blanket, and the dessert menu features apple crumb, pecan, and pumpkin pies, plus chocolate espresso cake, and a cookie platter. Orders must be placed by 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, and picked up between 11 a.m. and noon on Thanksgiving.

Dining Out on Thanksgiving

Baron’s Cove in Sag Harbor will serve a three-course prix fixe Thanksgiving dinner from noon to 8 p.m. next Thursday. The price is $68 for adults, and $26 for children 4 and up. In addition to turkey, the menu features roast parsnip soup, cavatelli with braised pork shank, and roast duck breast.

The 1770 House in East Hampton Village will have a three-course prix fixe Thanksgiving dinner from 2 to 8 p.m. next Thursday. The cost is $95 per person not including beverage, tax, and gratuity. For those 12 and under, a two-course dinner is $40. The menu features appetizers such as lobster bisque, fluke tartare, and winter truffle risotto. The turkey entree comes with sausage stuffing, cranberry relish, butternut squash, brussels sprouts, and mashed potatoes. Braised veal cheeks and a salmon dish are also available as a main dish.

Lulu Kitchen and Bar in Sag Harbor will offer a family-style Thanksgiving dinner with turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, and other traditional dishes next Thursday from noon to 10 p.m. The cost is $36 per person, plus tax and gratuity. The regular à la carte menu will also be available.

Holiday Bake Sale

Fans of the tasty pastries and frozen hors d’ouevres prepared each holiday season by members of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Hamptons in Southampton need not travel to the church to satisfy their cravings. The church will hold bake sales of pastries such as baklava ($25 for a tray) and frozen hors d’oeuvres such as spanakopita (16 pieces for $25) on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. outside the post offices in East Hampton, Sag Harbor, Bridgehampton, and Southampton. The items can also be pre-ordered by visiting the church’s website.

Summer shares are now available from Quail Hill Farm, one of the country's original community-supported agriculture farms. Family shares, for households of two or more people, and single-person shares as well, run from early June through Halloween, with picking two days a week, including unlimited flowers.
