Michael J. Coppola, a multifaceted performer and Ross School senior, will present an evening of songs and stories at The Church in Sag Harbor on Saturday at 6:30 p.m.

“Melodies With Michael” embraces a range of styles, from musical theater classics to contemporary pop hits. Examples are “Out There” from “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” and “Somewhere” from “West Side Story.” Most recently at Ross, he presented his senior project, “A Journey of Self-Discovery Through Music,” a cabaret-style concert reflecting his growth as an artist.

Coppola’s budding career includes a duet of “For Good” with Kristin Chenoweth at the Staller Center at Stony Brook University and a solo performance of “Don’t Rain on My Parade” at Birdland Jazz Club in Manhattan. He will continue his studies this fall in the city, at the New School’s Mannes School of Music.

Tickets are $25, $22 for members.

The Church will host a Mother’s Day “Sound Bath,” performed by Daniel Lauter, a composer, classically trained musician, and saxophonist, on Sunday morning at 11.

Designed to relax and rejuvenate, the event features the sounds of crystal bowls, symphonic gong, Himalayan bells, bansuri, shruti, tongue drum, didgeridoo, rain sticks, ocarina, and more. The composer, a well-versed student of Buddhist mantras, which he infuses into each sound bath, has lectured at conferences internationally on the integration of sound and mindfulness.

Following a music conservatory education in New York City, Lauter studied at the Center for Experimental and Interdisciplinary Art in San Francisco, fronted original jazz/funk groups on saxophone, and played in tribal swing and ambient ensembles, as well as the prominent San Francisco punk band Rx.

Tickets are $30, $25 for members, $15 for children under 12.

Creatives have been invited to come together next Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m.  and make art along with the cultural center’s current artists in residence, Francisco Graciano, Kariny Padilla, and Cate Pasquarelli. Participants can visit their studios to see their work and talk about process.

Attendees are responsible for taking all their own supplies, including easels. The Church provides its studio, including tables and chairs. Space is limited, so reserving a place on its website will guarantee a spot. Artists are responsible for their own cleanup, which should begin half an hour before the event concludes. Use of the etching press will not be permitted.

Tickets are $10, free for members, who are required to R.S.V.P. in advance.
