The Corner Is Back
The Corner, the long-awaited successor to Sag Harbor’s Corner Bar, will open Friday for dinner and bar service, with lunch expected to follow next week. The new proprietors are John and Kelly Piccinnini, who also own the Clam Bar on Napeague and Sett Coffee in Amagansett.
Among the offerings will be mussels with garlic butter, white wine, chorizo, soppressata, roasted corn, and shishito petters; center-cut pork chop with roasted asparagus; a warm pretzel with charcuterie, cheeses, and olives; house potato chips with sour cream and French onion dip, and, of course, a classic hamburger.
Cocktails will include a strawberry basil habanero margarita, a hibiscus paloma, and a smoked blood orange gimlet.
Sandwiches and More
Also in Sag Harbor, K Pasa has a new neighbor. Cruust has opened at 2 Main Street with a menu of sandwiches, salads, pasta, and coffee. The pasta preparations include Bolognese, cherry tomato vodka sauce, mushrooms, taleggio, and tarragon, and fennel sausage, broccoli rabe, and chili crunch.
Sandwiches, which can be on hoagie rolls or gluten-free wraps, include roast beef, Taleggio, crispy onions, and horseradish mayonnaise; blackened salmon with arugula, fennel, and lemon; the aptly named Italian job, and bacon, pickled red onion, chipotle aioli, arugula, and Parmesan.
Salads and fries are also on offer.
Paint and Sip at the Dock
Paint and Sip in Montauk, a waterfront painting experience, will happen at Gosman’s Dock on Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m. Participants will receive guided instruction from Porschia, a local artist, all painting materials, a canvas to take home, and a complimentary glass of sparkling wine. The cost is $60.
Also available that evening will be the “dinner experience,” a seafood-inspired meal that includes appetizers, a choice of entree, dessert, and a scoop of ice cream. The dinner is $50, and can be combined with Paint and Sip for $110.
Also on the dock, Topside has launched Locals’ Golden Hour every Monday from 5 to 7 p.m., when locals with a Montauk ID or local bill receive a 50-percent discount off all drinks.
Happy Hour on Napeague
There’s now a happy hour at the Clam Bar on Napeague Monday through Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. The specials include a $15 rum punch, $7 Montauk drafts, $5 Modelo beers, and $10 appetizers, which include masa chips with guacamole and pico de gallo, clam strips, and corn nuggets.
Ice Cream With a View
Duryea’s Montauk has launched Duryea’s Sunset Scoops, an ice cream cart that offers house-made ice cream with rotating flavors available in a cup, cone, or chocolate waffle bowl. Current flavors include Cookie Jar, Matcha Honey, Midnight Crunch, Peachy Keen, Summer Blush, and Golden Hour.
The cart will be parked between the market and the restaurant daily from noon to 8.
