An unsung hero of the Holocaust and a group of vibrant senior citizens are the subjects of two documentaries slated for the Southampton Arts Center.

“The Last Twins,” set to screen Thursday at 5 p.m, is the story of Erno (Zvi) Spiegel, who worked to save dozens of young twins from the atrocities of Auschwitz, specifically, brutal medical experimentation under the shadow of Dr. Josef Mengele.

Judith Richter, a participant in the film; Perri Peltz and Matthew O’Neill, the filmmakers, and Marie Brenner, a writer and journalist, will be present for a panel discussion.

“Stella & Co: A Romantic Musical Comedy About Aging” will be shown on Sunday at 6 p.m. The film, directed by Robin Baker Leacock, celebrates the life of her 103-year-old mother and a group of other senior citizens ages 75 to 105.

The 50-minute film uses humor, music, and storytelling to deliver a positive look at what it means to age in contemporary times. It was shown nationally on PBS in 2020.

Tickets to each program are $10, free for members.
