On Saturday, Stony Brook Southampton Hospital will host a car seat safety check from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 330 Meeting House Lane.

The Town of East Hampton has won a $5.6 million award from New York State for a planned affordable housing project on a 14.2-acre parcel on Three Mile Harbor Road. 

Joe Vas, the East Hampton School District's athletic director, said Monday he thinks it will be a good spring for the high school's varsity teams, if for no other reason than the kids are finally getting a chance to play.

Montauk patrons have requested more time at the temporary building not only to browse through the books and periodicals but also to take advantage of such things as passport applications and notary public services, copying, scanning, emailing, laminating, and the new self-serve photo printing kiosk. The new hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, 1 to 6 p.m.
