Thu, 08/25/2022 - 13:55

Marlene Julie Pabon of the Bronx, 40, was charged on the morning of Aug. 16 with menacing a police officer after she allegedly brandished an eight-inch folding knife at him.

Ms. Pabon was reportedly standing in the middle of Old West Lake Drive in Montauk, by its intersection with Route 27, when Officer Ross Hamilton tried to remove her from the roadway. Ms. Papon, who'd been reported walking in westbound traffic on the highway, turned toward Officer Hamilton when he approached and allegedly refused to comply with his demand that she drop the knife. She continued walking until she was eventually subdued.

Menacing is a class D felony. She was additionally charged with criminal possession of a weapon with intent to use, a class A misdemeanor. Police records show that Ms. Pabon was turned over to the custody of the County Sheriff's office.
