Forged License Charged

Wed, 08/17/2022 - 17:59

Fergus Reyniak of Sagaponack, 19, was pulled over on the afternoon of Aug. 11 after East Hampton Village police clocked him at 60 miles per hour in a 30 m.p.h. zone on Main Street, after which he turned into Woods Lane and accelerated to 90 m.p.h.

Police stopped Mr. Reyniak’s gray 2017 Mercedes-Benz G-Class on Montauk Highway, where he admitted to drinking “36 ounces of Budweiser beer.” Officers also found a can of Peroni beer in the car. The driver then produced a California license that was later found to be forged; police said he was also carrying a forged New Jersey license.

Mr. Reyniak was held over for a morning arraignment on 10 charges — two felonies in connection with the forged licenses, three misdemeanors (including two for driving while intoxicated), and five violations.
