On Halloween, Jerry P. Keller was watching television in his house on Old Stone Highway when a pumpkin was thrown through his living room window, landing at 7:40 p.m. He looked out the window, but did not see anyone or any vehicles. The cost to replace the window was about $800, he said.

The East Hampton Library turned a slew of items like calculators, keys, watches, and bracelets, which had been in its lost-and-found area for more than a year, to police, who are keeping it locked up.

A bag containing three stainless steel chef’s knives was stolen from a Nissan Sentra while it was parked in the Reutershan and Schenck parking lots on Nov. 14 between 1 and 3:50 p.m. An East Hampton woman who filed the larceny report last Thursday said they were worth $370. Detectives are investigating.

An East Hampton woman told police she attempted to purchase eight days’ worth of parking in the long-term parking lot on Lumber Lane on Friday afternoon. She said she inserted $35 of the $40 necessary in cash, but the machine did not allow her to enter the remaining money. She then tried to cancel the transaction, but could not retrieve the cash. Police told her to contact Village Hall on Monday to rectify the situation.

After receiving several automated phone calls from a telemarketer claiming to be Apple, an 80-year-old Meadow Way resident phoned police Saturday. She said she was not able to get a live person on the phone and was not able to obtain the incoming number because she did not have caller ID.

Wainscott

Mary F. Brennan of East Quogue said she left her iPhone 7 on the counter near the register at HomeGoods on Montauk Highway on Oct. 30 at about 12:20 p.m. When she realized she did not have her cellphone, she went back to the store but could not find it. Her husband tracked the iPhone on Leeton Road between Atlantic Avenue and Dolphin Drive in Amagansett. Police said they would canvass the area. The phone will cost nearly $1,000 to replace.
