As of Thursday afternoon, seats were still available to see a talk by Gail Levin, an art historian and the author of "Alice Baber: An Artist's Triumph Over Tragedy," at the John Jermain Memorial Library in Sag Harbor on Friday at 4 p.m.
The book, published by Pegasus Books earlier this year, explores the life of the Abstract Expressionist artist, who died in 1982, and how she had work in the permanent collections of the biggest museums in New York by the time she was in her 50s, but then nearly fell into obscurity. Levin is a distinguished professor at Baruch College and the Graduate Center of the City University of New York.
Registration is required at johnjermain.org.
