Forged Stickers Alleged

Thu, 05/23/2019 - 06:33

East Hampton Village police arrested two people at Georgica Beach last weekend for allegedly having forged beach stickers.

On Friday afternoon, a traffic control officer issued a summons for a 2013 Mercedes sedan with Connecticut registration. The beach sticker was forged, police said, and they impounded the car.

The owner, Thomas M. Decea, 59, of Bedford Corner, N.Y., was arrested at about 4:30 p.m., charged with felony criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree, a felony. He was released on $500 bail and ordered to appear in East Hampton Town Justice Court on Aug. 23.

On Sunday, a traffic control officer found a 2017 Jeep Wrangler in the Georgica Beach parking lot with an apparently forged beach sticker, as well. Jennifer D. Mormile, 39, of Manhattan, was charged with possession of a forged instrument at 2:50 p.m. The Jeep was impounded. She, too, was released on $500 bail with an order to appear in court, on Sept. 27.
