Nov. 10, 1957 - Jan. 2, 2022

Patricia Ann Corbey died at home in Springs of cardiopulmonary arrest on Jan. 2.  She was 64.

A member of East Hampton High School’s class of 1977, Mrs. Corbey was known and admired for her baking and chocolatier artistry, especially in the 1990s, when she would make Christmas houses out of chocolate, Easter bunnies, and lollipops for the holidays. She also made cakes for baby showers, weddings, and even a Bible cake for church. She sold them from several small local businesses as well as from home.

Before moving to the Clearwater section of Springs, she had lived on Miller Terrace and on Three Mile Harbor Road in East Hampton.

Mrs. Corbey was born on Nov. 10, 1957, one of three children of the former Althea Odell and Edward Cangiolosi. Her brother, David Cangiolosi of East Hampton, died in 1979; her sister, Rose Bruhn of Tulsa, Okla., survives.

On April 17, 1977, she married Thomas Corbey, who survives. They had three daughters.

Mrs. Corbey was a volunteer with the East Hampton Village Ambulance Association from 1986 to 1997, and, as an active member of the congregation and enthusiastic member of the Bible study group of the Hamptons Church in Wainscott, she also helped out at the food pantry the church runs.

In addition to her husband and sister, she is survived by her daughters, Rose Hochman, Kelly Rivera, and Jennifer Chuquiana, and Ms. Chuquiana’s husband, Dario Chuquiana, all of East Hampton. She also leaves seven grandchildren.

Her family received visitors on Jan. 9 at the Yardley and Pino Funeral Home in East Hampton, where Pastor Joe Kelly of the Hamptons Church officiated at the service. Mrs. Corbey’s ashes were interred at Round Swamp Cemetery on Three Mile Harbor Road. The family has suggested memorial donations to the Hamptons Church Food Pantry, P.O. Box 370, Wainscott 11975.
