On the heels of Long Island entering the third phase of New York's economic recovery plan on Wednesday, effective at midnight, travelers arriving in New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey from nine different states must quarantine for 14 days.

With only a small fraction of voters showing up in person at polling stations, Perry Gershon led the field among Democrats vying to take on Representative Lee Zeldin, but the 14,596 votes counted as of Tuesday night are dwarfed by the 150,000 absentee ballots mailed out by the Suffolk County Board of Elections.

Saturday is STOP day, for Stop Throwing Out Pollutants, in East Hampton. From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., residents can take hazardous household materials to the town's recycling center at 260 Springs-Fireplace Road for proper disposal.
