A green SSI Schaefer garbage bin was reported stolen from outside a Fieldview Lane residence on Nov. 28. Karen Saks told police she had discovered the theft the previous week and called her garbage hauler, but a representative said no one from the company had picked up the bin.

Marvin Noel Yanes left a gold Samsung 7S cellphone on one of the counters at Brent’s General Store on Saturday at about 7:30 p.m. while shopping. He told police he forgot to pick it up when he left the store and that it was gone when he returned some 20 minutes later.

A homeless man called police to Starbucks on Friday evening. He told officers his girlfriend had vanished after leaving the store. While police were talking with the man, the woman reappeared. She told police she was fine, and had just been resting on a bench.

Vehicular Assault Charged

A woman accused of driving under the influence of oxycodone when she hit an East Hampton couple standing on the side of Sunrise Highway in August was arraigned Monday on elevated charges of vehicular assault. 

Ulyana Yaremko, 20, of Hampton Bays pleaded not guilty to the eight-count indictment before Justice Fernando Camacho in Suffolk County Criminal Court.

The family of an East Hampton man who was badly hurt Sunday morning in a car accident on Route 114 has asked for help from the community to meet his hospital bills, which are expected to be substantial.

Fatality on Montauk Highway

A man walking on the shoulder in front of Cafe Max, on Montauk Highway west of East Hampton, was killed on Nov. 9 after being struck by a Jeep.

Spyridon Dimopoulous reported receiving a call on the afternoon of Dec. 6 from an unknown number, stating his oil service was to be disconnected. He was instructed to call the PSEG Storm Center at a number that turned out not to be connected to the utility. When he called, he was told he would have to pay $1,500.

An 87-year-old man survived a rollover crash on Napeague Friday night after swerving to avoid a deer.

Building Contractor Arrested

A building contractor was arrested on theft charges for allegedly stealing tools from Riverhead Building Supply on consecutive days last week.

A Christmas-morning crash on Three Mile Harbor-Hog Creek Road in Springs resulted in a trip to Southampton Hospital for the driver, who was charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated.

A Manhattan woman who owns a house on Georgica Road left Spa 27 on Montauk Highway after having been “pampered by the estheticians and massage therapists” on Dec. 20, a police report said. She forgot her multicolored Furla handbag, however, and back at the salon saw that it was gone from where she had left it.

He Wasn’t Supposed to Be Behind Wheel

In light of a previous conviction for driving while intoxicated, an East Hampton man arrested Sunday morning for the same offense was charged with felony D.W.I.

East Hampton Town police said Segundo P. Quezada, 51, driving a 2004 Nissan X-Terra, was under the influence as he headed home on Springs-Fireplace Road around 1:15 a.m.

Electric lines to a house on Cranberry Hole Road, coming in from a street pole to the junction box, were cut sometime between Dec. 9 and Dec. 12, when a property manager reported the damage. Repairs were estimated at $4,000.
