This weekend will bring part three of the East Hampton Trails Preservation Society's six-week celebration of the Paumanok Path's 25th anniversary, and three hikes are scheduled for Saturday, each ending by Napeague Harbor in Amagansett.

Eight-mile hikes will start at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. in Amagansett's Stony Hill Woods; a 3.5-mile hike will start at 11:30.

Those who register by 5 p.m. on Wednesday can reserve spots on a Hampton Hopper shuttle bus that will take them from Neapeague Meadow Road to the starting points. A suggested donation of $10 will help to cover the cost of the buses. Registration is at bit.ly/46LGEV0 for this and all future hikes.

On Saturday, participants have been asked to park on the shoulder of Napeague Meadow Road just west of the Long Island Rail Road crossing. Snacks and liquids are recommended. People who do not reserve spots by Wednesday may still be able to join the walk, but must be prepared to arrange their own transportation.

For the eight-mile treks, Mike Bottini can be emailed with questions before Saturday at [email protected]; for the 3.5-mile hike, people should email [email protected], also before Saturday. In case of rain, the walks will happen on Sunday.

On Saturday, Nov. 4, the trails society will tackle the next leg of the Paumanok Path with two long hikes and one shorter one through Montauk's Hither Woods. The deadline to register for spots on the bus for this one is Wednesday, Nov. 1.
