In line with Gov. Kathy Hochul's announcement on Saturday of New Yorkers' eligibility for second-booster shots of the Covid-19 vaccines, Stony Brook Southampton Hospital has updated its appointment times and testing hours for Covid and influenza.

The hospital is offering second booster shots on Wednesdays to eligible people whose initial booster was at least four months ago, including those ages 50 and up, people 18 to 49 who received the Johnson and Johnson vaccine and booster shot, and people 12 and up who are "moderately or severely immunocompromised." Moderna boosters will be given between 10 a.m. and noon and Pfizer boosters from noon to 6 p.m. at the hospital's Parrish Memorial Hall through its rear entrance at the corner of Lewis Street and Herrick Road.

Appointments are required, and can be made online at Southampton.StonyBrookMedicine.edu. Walk-ins may be taken if time allows. People should take their vaccine cards and wear short-sleeved shirts if possible.

Testing hours, also held at Parrish Hall, have been updated. Covid-19 PCR tests and flu tests are now given Mondays from 10 a.m. to 5:40 p.m. (closed from 2-2:30 p.m.) and Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 2:40 p.m. (closed from 11 to 11:30 a.m.). The testing center is closed Thursdays and Sundays. Walk-in patients are accepted, but appointments are encouraged. The phone number for testing appointments is 631-396-6400.
