Blood Drive Wednesday in Amagansett

Fri, 08/15/2025 - 13:44

The community has an opportunity to help save lives by donating blood at the Amagansett Library on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The blood drive will be conducted in partnership with the New York Blood Center, a long-running nonprofit. Its website emphasizes the importance of donating, stating that "there is no substitute for blood. Blood components cannot be synthetically made and can only come from volunteer donors."

One blood donation can save up to three lives, according to the National Institutes of Health.

For the blood drive on Wednesday, participants must be 17 or older or 16 with parental consent. Appointments can be booked in advance, but walk-ins will also be welcomed. More details can be found at amagansettlibrary.org.
