Mrs. Hoagland's Cookies, a brand conceived by and sold at the Monogram Shop in East Hampton, will now be baked by the team at the South Fork Bakery's Scoville Hall kitchen in Amagansett. In sharing the news in an email this month, the shop's owner, Valerie Smith, wrote, "All baking is from scratch, done in their kitchen, and the packaging and distribution end of things are done by developmentally disabled adults in our community."

The South Fork Bakery is a nonprofit that provides employment to adults with disabilities. And, according to its website, "our mission extends to the training and placement of adults with disabilities with employer partners in businesses throughout Suffolk County."

All Monogram Shop cookie purchases will "benefit the kitchen staff and the packaging team," Ms. Smith said.

Previously, the cookies were baked in East Hampton by Laurie Mamay of Hamptons Foodie, whose private chef business had gotten so busy over the summer that she "had to hang up her cookie sheet," Ms. Smith said.
