Best in Show

Next up in the summer wine class series at East Hampton’s Park Place Wines and Liquors is Best in Show: Indulge Your Palate With Some of the Finest Wines on Our Shelves. What the shop calls its “most exciting class of the season,” set for next Thursday at 6 p.m., will feature wines from five of the world’s top wine regions: Burgundy, Bordeaux, Champagne, Piedmont, and Tuscany.

Wines will be paired with light bites from the Cookery in East Hampton. Tickets are $60 and not refundable.

Paella Nights

Multi Aquaculture Systems, a.k.a., the Fish Farm on Napeague’s Cranberry Hole Road, has announced that every Wednesday during July and August will be paella night, with an authentic seafood paella prepared by Paul Roman, the chef.

Seating is limited and reservations are required by calling 631-267-3341.

Beads and Bread

Share the Harvest Farm Stand on Long Lane in East Hampton will host two pop-ups featuring local artisans on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Visitors can design bracelets or key chains at the interactive Studio Hamptons Bead Bar. Those less inclined to get creative can browse a selection of ready-to-wear pieces.

The Twisted Challah Bakery will also be on hand with tastings of its handmade challah and rugelach, which will be available to take home.

News From 1770 House

The patio at the 1770 House in East Hampton is open seven nights a week and now features a fire pit area with Adirondack seating. In addition, new seasonal dishes have been added to the restaurant’s menu.

Starters include a sweet corn and tomato gazpacho with a citrus-cured scallop, bottarga, sweet onion, and extra virgin olive oil, and Hudson Valley foie gras with a strawberry-rhubarb-apricot compote. New main courses are Atlantic halibut with mushroom-thyme broth and marinated Atlantic swordfish a la plancha with artichoke risotto.

In addition to a la carte items, an $85 two-course prix fixe (appetizer and main course) is available on the patio, in the dining room, and in the downstairs tavern.

Snacks

Cluckman’s in Sag Harbor, known for its smash burgers and fried chicken, is celebrating its one-year anniversary with a new in-house concept. Pizza Pizza is a slice shop operating within the space, serving thin-crust New York style pizza.

Mrs. Hoagland's Cookies, a brand conceived by and sold at the Monogram Shop in East Hampton, will now be baked by the team at the South Fork Bakery's Scoville Hall kitchen in Amagansett.

The big news for foodies on the South Fork this week is that Honest Man Hospitality has announced that it will close Coche Comedor, its Mexican restaurant in Amagansett, effective Saturday after a six-year run in the space next door to La Fondita.
