Wine Tasting at Nick and Toni’s
Wine Wednesday Workshops have returned to Nick and Toni’s restaurant in East Hampton. Hosted by Christian Millwood, the beverage director of Honest Man Hospitality, and Luis Marin, the general manager of Wainscott Main Wine and Spirits, the programs happen on Wednesdays from 5:30 to 7 p.m., with the exceptions of Oct. 29, Nov. 26, and Dec. 10. Each seminar is designed around tasting flights with a theme.
Next up on Wednesday is Classic vs. Modern: French Grapes and Their Counterparts, which will be led by Micheala Johnson of MJ Wine Consulting. Subsequent classes are High-Altitude Heroes: Wines From Alps, Andes, and High Elevation (Nov. 5), Discover Spain’s Hidden Gems: Jorge Ordonez Selections (Nov. 12), Gobble and Grapes: Wines for the Thanksgiving Table (Nov. 19), Family Affairs: Generational Wine Families (Dec. 3), and Shop It Like a Professional: Holiday Edition (Dec. 17).
Tickets are $40 per class in advance. Reservations are required and can be made by calling the restaurant at 631-324-3550 after 2 p.m. Wednesday through Monday. The ticket includes tasting sheets, crystal tasting stems, and small plates from the restaurant’s kitchen.
Baby Food and Hestan Cookware
Sybille van Kempen, the owner of Loaves and Fishes, started the shop’s line of homemade baby food more than 30 years ago, when her own children were babies. It has been for sale at the Sagaponack shop ever since.
“My mom formulated the recipes to give us the best of her cooking, and then to share that amazing cooking with the community,” Karina Forrest, her daughter and the manager of Loaves and Fishes, said in an email.
The baby food is made using high-quality ingredients to ensure children are truly nourished at every meal, according to Ms. Forrest. The many flavors include veal dinner, chicken dinner, blueberry-apple, yellow vegetable, and green vegetable.
Brandi Anderson, the manager of Loaves and Fishes Cookshop in Bridgehampton, has announced the arrival of ProBond Luxe, the latest line of Italian cookware from Hestan. The cookware features stainless-steel tri-ply construction with a pure aluminum core, resulting in 35-percent greater heat conductivity than regular clad cookware, according to the shop.
