Nikki's vegan Not Dogs has added the Florida dog and the Atlantic dog to its menu.

Artists and Writers Dinner

The Artists and Writers dinner series at Almond restaurant in Bridgehampton will return on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. with Michelle Fiordaliso, an essayist, screenwriter, and journalist. She will be joined by Lindsay Morris, who took the photographs for Ms. Fiordaliso’s most recent book, “Rejected: Essays on Belonging.”

Ms. Fiordaliso’s awards include a PEN Center USA award for literary fiction and a Gold Plaque for best documentary short from the Chicago International Film Festival. She has written for The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, and others.

A three-course family-style meal with one glass of wine or draft beer costs $59, including gratuity. Reservations are required.

New at Solé East

The Backyard at Solé East in Montauk has introduced a new fall menu. Among the new items are root vegetable soup, kale salad, seared duck breast, braised short rib, and butternut squash risotto. The restaurant is open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

More Not Dogs

Nikki’s Not Dog Stand in Sag Harbor has added a soup of the week and two new vegan not dogs to its menu. The Florida dog features Nikki’s potato salad, and the Atlanta dog is accompanied by slaw, barbecue sauce, and mustard. Nikki’s is open Wednesday and Thursday from noon to 6:30, Friday and Saturday from noon to 7:30, and Sunday from noon to 5.

Cocktail Competition

Bird on the Roof at Daunt’s Albatross in Montauk has invited mixologists to take part in a craft cocktail competition on Tuesday at 6 p.m. Contestants will be scored based on presentation, originality, palate experience, and matching theme. Mrs. Hoagland's Cookies, a brand conceived by and sold at the Monogram Shop in East Hampton, will now be baked by the team at the South Fork Bakery's Scoville Hall kitchen in Amagansett.
