Emily Weitz at Almond
Emily Weitz, an author and singer-songwriter, is the next guest in the Artists and Writers series at Almond restaurant in Bridgehampton on Monday at 6 p.m.
Weitz, who lives in Sag Harbor, has published articles in The New York Times and Vice magazine, personal essays in Longreads and Nourish magazine, and is a regular contributor to The Sag Harbor Express. In recent years she also took up songwriting.
This year she and her band, M Takes the Mic, released an original song on the 15th of every month, culminating with “No Song Left Behind,” which features the lyrics to 14 songs and a link to listen. At Almond, Weitz will blend storytelling, reading, and some interactive singing.
A three-course family-style meal will be served with a glass of wine or draft beer for $59 plus tax and gratuity. Reservations are required and can be made by calling the restaurant at 631-537-5665.
Day of the Dead

Also on offer are three tamales, one filled with pork in salsa roja, one stuffed with chicken in salsa verde, and a third filled with sauteed jalapeno peppers and cheese. All are accompanied by rice and refried beans.
