Specials range from $1 oysters, $2 oysters, and an oyster sampler, to special oyster appetizers and oyster entrees.

South Fork participants are Calissa in Water Mill and the Bell and Anchor in Sag Harbor. Oysterweekli.com has the complete listing of restaurants.

Arthur & Sons Specials

One of the many pleasures of life on the East End after Labor Day is the arrival of prix fixe menus and other special offerings. Arthur & Sons, the popular Bridgehampton outpost of the old-school Italian West Village eatery, has announced a happy hour and a prix fixe menu available Wednesdays through Sundays from 4 to 6 p.m.

The three-course menu includes an appetizer, main course, and dessert. The appetizers are Caesar salad, house salad, meatballs, fried calamari, and fried mozzarella. Among the many main course options are chicken Parmesan, chicken Marsala, chicken Francese, spicy rigatoni, and spaghetti and meatballs. Desserts are a mini cannoli plate and a gelato al cioccolato cup. The price is $39.95.

Happy hour, available at the bar only, features half-price appetizers, and discounts on house wines, well cocktails, and draft beer.
