A Night Out With . . .

On Wednesday at 5:30 p.m., the Golden Eagle Studio and Nick and Toni’s restaurant in East Hampton will team up for A Night Out With, an event that starts at the studio with an artist’s presentation and is followed by a two-course dinner with the artist at the adjacent restaurant. The featured guest will be Michele Dragonetti, a photographer best known for her shots of weathered boat hulls. The cost, $85 per person, includes the workshop, dinner, tax, and tip. Advance registration is on the Golden Eagle website. Participants have until noon on Monday to register.

 

Two Classes

A free class on how to use an Instant Pot pressure cooker to prepare healthy meals will be held on Sunday at 3 p.m. at the John Jermain Memorial Library in Sag Harbor. Aidan Bouchelle, the teacher, will offer tastings and share recipes.

A class on wines from Washington and Oregon will held at 5:30 p.m. next Thursday at Park Place Wines and Liquors in East Hampton. The cost is $10. Registration is by calling the store.

 

Wine Dinners

The first in a series of four-course wine dinners with Roman Roth, the winemaker and co-owner of Wolffer Estate Vineyard in Sagaponack, will be held at 6 p.m. on Jan. 19 at Wolffer Kitchen Sag Harbor. The menu is still to be determined, but the wines will include several of the vineyard’s merlots and a chardonnay ice wine with dessert. The cost is $100 per person, not including tax and a service charge. Reservations are can be made at resy.com

The Sweet Smell of Nostalgia at Sagaponack General

Stepping into the new Sagaponack General Store, which reopened yesterday after being closed since 2020, is a sweet experience, and not just because there’s a soft-serve ice cream station on the left and what promises to be the biggest penny candy selection on the South Fork on your right, but because it’s like seeing an old friend who, after some struggle, made it big. Really, really big.
