Lear and the Kings

Third Thursdays at Guild Hall, a new initiative that features live music in the garden programmed by Carlos Lama, offers extended hours during which the current exhibitions are on view. Next Thursday’s performers in the garden will be Jake Lear and the Kings from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., playing classics from such blues luminaries as Robert Johnson, Junior Wells, Howlin’ Wolf, and Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Lama, a singer, D.J., vinyl enthusiast, and occasional actor, has created soundtracks for art events and installations at the Parrish Art Museum, the Sag Harbor Whaling Museum, Harper’s Books, and the Contemporary Arts Museum in Houston, to name a few.

The performance is free with museum admission, which is $12. Advance reservations are available but not required.

‘Yeomen of the Guard’

The Gilbert & Sullivan Light Opera Company of Long Island will perform “The Yeomen of the Guard” at the East Hampton Library on Saturday afternoon at 2. The story is set at the Tower of London in the early 1500s, during the reign of Henry VIII, and involves efforts by Phoebe Meryll to save the unjustly imprisoned Colonel Fairfax, with whom she has fallen in love. While the plan succeeds at first, things take a turn for the worse and put Phoebe, Fairfax, and others in danger of arrest and execution.

“Both Gilbert and Sullivan separately said that ‘The Yeomen of the Guard’ was the favorite of their own operas,” said Gayden Wren, who directs the production and may be familiar to library audiences as Tennessee Walt, who often performs country music there.

Music at LTV

The Moss Ensemble will return to LTV Studios in Wainscott on Sunday at 4 p.m. with a program of both classical and contemporary music and an encore performance of “Medieval Fantasia” by Marshall Coid, a composer who is also the group’s countertenor and violinist.

The other members of the ensemble are Darcy Dunn, a soprano, Mary Wooten, a cellist, composer, and pianist, and Elizabeth Rodgers, a pianist. In addition to performing, they will share insights that illuminate the music. The program offers music by Jules Massenet, Benjamin Britten, Chris DeBlasio, Douglas Anderson, Henry Purcell, Mozart, Bach, Fauré, and Shostakovich.

General admission is $30 in advance, $35 at the door. Reserved cafe table seating, which comes with a drink, is $65.

Drag Cabaret

“Drag Cabaret: Calling All Queens,” a family-friendly presentation from Our Fabulous Variety Show, is coming to Guild Hall on Saturday at 7 p.m. The program will be headlined by Julia Van Cartier, a drag queen familiar to East End audiences. The evening will feature vocal performances by Lola Lama, Sarah Law, and Sarah Sireci, a hula-hoop act by Melissa Pressler, dancers from OFVS, and improv and comedy.

Tickets range from $23 to $50, or $17.50 to $35 for members.

From Havana to Rio

Jazz Night, co-presented with Hamptons JazzFest, will return to Sag Harbor’s Masonic Temple with “From Havana to Rio” Friday at 7 p.m. The performers are Michael O’Brien, bass, Steve Sandberg, piano, Norbert Stachel, saxophone, Nabate Isles, trumpet, and a percussionist to be announced.

Tickets are $20. Doors open at 6:30.

Funny Woman Onstage

Vanessa Hollingshead will headline the next Sticks and Stones comedy program at the Southampton Cultural Center on Saturday at 8 p.m. Hollingshead has appeared on the Showtime special “Funny Women of a Certain Age,” hosted by Fran Drescher, had a special on Comedy Central, and was listed on Oxygen’s TV special “Fifty of the Funniest Women Alive.” The show will include sets by Steve Rocco, Rob White, and Joe Winchell.

General admission is $35, reserved seating is $50, and V.I.P. seats are $70. Doors open at 6:30, when snacks and drinks will be available in the lobby.

Garden Fair

The 2026 Garden Fair of the Horticultural Alliance of the Hamptons will take place Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 to 1 at the Bridgehampton Community House.

Tomorrow’s attendees will have access to the best selection of plants as well as a chance to bid in a silent auction. Wine and hors d’oeuvres will be on offer. Tickets for tomorrow’s preview party and auction are $50 in advance, $60 at the door. A gift of $150 or more earns early admission for two at 4 p.m. for the first choice of plants. The party’s honorees are Marie DiMonte and Bettina Benson.

Admission to the plant sale on Saturday is free.
