Group Show in Springs

The Holiday Show at HaubrichArt at 39 Isle of Wight Road in Springs will open with a reception on Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. The exhibition will feature small paintings, photographs, and ceramics by Anthony Allison, Maria Carbone, Steven Corsano, John Haubrich, Christa Maiwald, and Ted Tyler.

The show will run through Jan. 1 by appointment only via email to [email protected].

Meet Jennifer Cross

A Meet the Artist gathering will happen at the Sara Nightingale Gallery in Sag Harbor on Saturday afternoon from 2 to 4, when Jennifer Cross will be on hand to talk about her exhibition there, “Going Through and Not Around.”

The show’s title was inspired by a 1994 Art in America review of Ms. Cross’s paintings by Gerrit Henry, who said her works “are singularly weird, astonishing, morbid, fantastic, and particularly her own. . . . Hope, they say, lies in going through, and not around, our most abysmal challenges.”

She is also the author of The Star’s book review this week.
