Riverhead's Suffolk Theater will kick off the weekend on Friday at 8 p.m. with Gerald Brann and Yellow Brick Road, an Elton John tribute band authentic enough that it was given permission to use Sir Elton's own orchestral scores to perform with the Augusta Symphony Orchestra in Atlanta.

Backed by a five-piece band, Mr. Brann, a trained jazz pianist, dresses in replica costumes, including the singer's outrageous glasses, as he recreates the Rocket Man's vocals and piano playing.

Tickets are $59.

Three groundbreaking female comedians, billed as "Funny Women of a Certain Age," will take the stage at the theater on Saturday at 7 p.m.

Carole Montgomery has been called "one of the pioneering female comics of the modern era" by The San Antonio Express. Deadline magazine labeled Julia Scotti "our next Betty White," while Leighann Lord has appeared on Showtime, Lifetime, HBO, and Comedy Central.

Tickets are $59 to $69.

Say Cheese (or Caviar), Day or Night

Self Provisions, a storefront attached to Cavaniola’s Gourmet Cheese in Sag Harbor, is “always open,” as is proclaimed by an illuminated sign on the wall at the entrance. Two large, brightly lit vending machines dominate the space, with offerings ranging from sea salt crackers and slabs of French butter to jars of caviar and curated gift boxes — and, of course, cheese.
