Music's Healing Power
The next conversation in the Science and Religion series at Sag Harbor's Temple Adas Israel will feature Rabbi Dan Geffen and Victoria Bond, an internationally acclaimed composer and conductor, asking "Can Music Heal?" Set for next Thursday at 7 p.m., the talk will happen at the temple and be accessible on its website.

Ms. Bond, who has a house in East Hampton, has composed eight operas, six ballets, two piano concertos, and orchestral, chamber, choral, and keyboard compositions. She has conducted symphonies and operas across the United States and abroad, and is the founder and artistic director of Cutting Edge Concerts New Music Festival.    

Academy Dinner
Guild Hall's 38th annual Academy of the Arts Achievement Awards Dinner will be held at the Rainbow Room in Manhattan on April 3. The evening will honor Daryl Roth, a producer of over 90 shows on and off Broadway, with the award for performing arts, and Nancy and Howard Marks with a special award for leadership and philanthropy.

The academy has announced the addition to its membership of Uri Berliner, Cynthia Daniels, Robert Downey Jr., Susan Downey, Sunny Hostin, Fern Mallis, Susan Meiselas, Carl Safina, Marcus Samuelsson, Hank Willis Thomas, Rufus Wainwright, and Carrie Mae Weems.

Tickets to the awards dinner, available on Guild Hall's website, start at $1,700; $750 for those 21 to 40.

Dead Resurrected
The Roses Grove Band, which takes its inspiration from the rock and blues of the Grateful Dead, will return to the Masonic Temple in Sag Harbor on Saturday at 8 p.m. The temple's music series features East End bands performing in the building's inner sanctum. 

The temple also hosts the Jam Session jazz concerts on Tuesday evenings at 7. This week's performers will be Santi Debriano on bass, Claes Brondal on drums, and two musicians to be announced.

Tickets to each show are $20 and help to support local charities.

R&B and Rock in Riverhead
G.E. Smith and Duke Robillard will be at the Suffolk Theater in Riverhead for "A Night of Rhythm and Blues" on Friday at 8. Mr. Smith's career has included six years as lead guitarist for Hall & Oates, 10 years as the "Saturday Night Live" bandleader and co-musical director, and tours with Bob Dylan and Roger Waters. 

A Grammy nominee, Mr. Robillard was a founder of Roomful of Blues and replaced Jimmie Vaughan in the Fabulous Thunderbirds. Tickets are $39 to $59.

Saturday will bring "Last Child: A Tribute to the Music of Aerosmith" to the theater at 8 p.m. Last Child embodies the look and sound of the iconic rockers as they perform such hits as "Walk This Way," "Dream On," and "Don't Wanna Miss a Thing," 

Tickets are $49 to $69.
