The Knowledge Friday series at The Church in Sag Harbor will resume on Friday at 6 p.m. with a visit from Maryann Calendrille and Kathryn Szoka, the co-owners of Canio's Books since 1999. They will discuss "the surprises and absurdities" of bookselling in the 21st century and offer insights on Sag Harbor and its vibrant artist community, with an eye to how it has evolved through the years. Tickets are $10, free for members.

The Church has also announced that the dance troupe LayeRhythm will be its first artists-in-residence for 2023. Directed by Mai Le Ho, the company is dedicated to risk-taking improvisation and interactive audience engagement through performances and events.

The residency, held in collaboration with Works & Process at the Guggenheim Museum, will conclude a day before the group's performance in New York on Jan. 17.

An open rehearsal will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. and tickets are $10. "Dance Jam Session," a performance followed by a dance party, is set for Jan. 14 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for that event are $20.
