Rock, Opera At Bay Street
Bay Street Theater will present a "Soul Spectacular" at 8 p.m. on Saturday. The concert will feature the music of the HooDoo Loungers and Mighty Ramon & the Phantoms of Soul. The Loungers' set list includes the music of Otis Redding, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, and many others. 

As they have at venues from New York City to Riverhead, the Huntington-based Phantoms will cover Wilson Pickett, the Animals, Otis Clay, and more. Tickets are $40.

For those who prefer opera, “Rediscovering 19th-Century Female Voices,” a three-part virtual workshop led by Ashley Bell and Anton Armendariz Diaz of Divaria Opera, will launch via Zoom at 4 p.m. on Wednesday and continue on March 23 and 30 at the same time. The series highlights the lives and music of Isabella Colbran, Maria Malibran, and Pauline Viardot.

The cost is $90 for the series, $40 per class.
    
Ballads for Ballard

Gretchen Reinhagen, a veteran of musical theater and cabaret, will bring “Special Kaye,” a tribute to the actress, comedian, and singer Kaye Ballard, to the Southampton Cultural Center on Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday afternoon at 2.

Ms. Reinhagen left a teaching career in California to move to New York,  where she appeared in productions of “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum,” “Always Patsy Cline,” and other musicals before launching a career in cabaret. 

Of “Special Kaye,” Sherri Rose of Onstage Review wrote, “This tour de force is an amazing collection of music and stories that celebrate one of the giants of comedy . . . and Kaye is celebrated by someone who is becoming a giant in her genre as well.”

Tickets are $30.

At the Temple
The music series at the Masonic Temple in Sag Harbor will continue Friday evening at 7 with a performance by the vocalist Anita Guarino, who was heard most recently at the Sag Harbor Harborfest and as a featured performer for the Hamptons Jazz Fest at Baron’s Cove.

Accompanied by Steven Skoldberg on keyboards, she will present original material as well as favorites by such icons as Ella Fitzgerald, Janis Joplin, and Linda Ronstadt. 

Tickets, are $20; proceeds support local charities.
