Mon, 10/17/2022 - 13:27
Julia Scotti will bring her standup comedy to Bay Street Theater.

Comedy Club, Bay Street Theater's ongoing showcase of comedians and storytellers, will return on Saturday at 8 p.m. with Julia Scotti and Anita Wise.

While starring in the 2021 documentary "Julia Scotti: Funny That Way," Ms. Scotti has appeared in numerous television specials and continues to perform standup at venues across the country. Deadline has called the 70-year-old comic "our next Betty White;" The Advocate named her one of the top five transgendered comedians in the country.

Ms. Wise, whose credits range from "The Tonight Show" to "Seinfeld" to the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal, will open for Ms. Scotti. Tickets are $35.

Prior to the show, at 7, the theater will host a free networking event to celebrate its membership in the newly formed Long Island LGBT Chamber of Commerce. Comedy Club ticket holders have been invited to attend.
