The Hamptons Jazz Fest rolls on, with the Iris Ornig Trio set to play Thursday night from 6 to 8 at the Hampton Library in Bridgehampton. More performances are in store for the Sag Harbor American Music Festival on Friday, Sept. 24, and Sept. 25. After several weeks of performances all around the South Fork, the jazz fest concludes on Sept. 30. 

The performances are free. The festival generally requires masks at indoor concerts; proof of vaccination is needed at some shows. The particular venues have more information.

Elsewhere, the Greater East Hampton Education Foundation brings Second Shift to the Clubhouse in East Hampton Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. The cost is $65; $120 for two, and includes a drink and appetizers. 

Shamarr Allen plays Thursday at 8 p.m. at the Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett, with Inda Eaton taking the stage next Thursday, also at 8. Tickets are on the Talkhouse website; proof of Covid-19 vaccination is required.

The Kirsten Thein Band is the Sunset Friday performer at Wolffer Estate in Sagaponack this week at 5 p.m.

The Sweet Smell of Nostalgia at Sagaponack General

Stepping into the new Sagaponack General Store, which reopened yesterday after being closed since 2020, is a sweet experience, and not just because there’s a soft-serve ice cream station on the left and what promises to be the biggest penny candy selection on the South Fork on your right, but because it’s like seeing an old friend who, after some struggle, made it big. Really, really big.
