The Hamptons Jazz Fest continues this week with the John Hart Quartet featuring a special guest Thursday from 6 to 8 at The Church at 48 Madison Street in Sag Harbor. Wayne Sabella plays solo piano on Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Baron's Cove, also in Sag Harbor, with Julie Bluestone and Alberto Bengolea there on Wednesday, same time. In Bridgehampton, the Santi Debriano Flash of the Spirit Arkestra will be at the Hayground School next Thursday from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Dan Bailey is Friday's Sunset Friday performer at Wolffer Estate in Sagaponack starting at 5.  

Out in Montauk
In Montauk, Kate Usher and the Sturdy Souls play at Liars' Saloon on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m., and on Monday night at the Surf Lodge from 6 to 8. 

Lynn Blue performs at Salivar's Thursday and next Thursday at 6:30, and will be at Liars' on Saturday at 4 p.m.

Highlights at the Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett include Inda Eaton Thursday at 8, Lez Zeppelin on Saturday at 7 p.m., Donavon Frankenreiter on Tuesday night at 8, and the Jake Lear Trio on Wednesday, also at 8. Ticketing information is on the venue's website, and patrons must show proof of Covid-19 vaccination. 

Free at Main Beach
East Hampton Village has announced a free music series on Tuesdays at Main Beach running through Sept. 7. Performances are from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and include LHT on Tuesday, Hopefully Forgiven on July 20, Inda Eaton on Aug. 3, Gene Casey and the Lone Sharks on Aug. 10, and Conga Cartel on Aug. 24.

The Sweet Smell of Nostalgia at Sagaponack General

Stepping into the new Sagaponack General Store, which reopened yesterday after being closed since 2020, is a sweet experience, and not just because there’s a soft-serve ice cream station on the left and what promises to be the biggest penny candy selection on the South Fork on your right, but because it’s like seeing an old friend who, after some struggle, made it big. Really, really big.
