At the Talkhouse
The Jake Lear Trio plays at the Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett tonight at 8 for $20. The Realm performs tomorrow, 7:30 p.m. ($30). Booga Sugar's show at 10:30 is sold out. It's Gene Casey and the Lone Sharks on Saturday, 7 p.m.($40), followed by Hello Brooklyn at 10:30 ($40). 

Mike Mazzaraco, the head sound engineer at the Talkhouse, has performed with many groups on stages across the South Fork. On Sunday at 7 p.m., he will debut an original project, Mike Maz and Friends. Rho and the Nomads follow at 10. On Tuesday at 10 p.m. it's JRiNVENTOR. Annie Trezza plays on Wednesday, 8 p.m. 

Ticketing information is on the Talkhouse website. Patrons must show proof of vaccination. 

In Montauk
The Lynn Blue Band will play at Liar's Saloon in Montauk on Saturday, 4 to 7 p.m. Kate Usher and the Sturdy Souls perform at Liar's on Sunday, same time, and on Monday at the Surf Lodge, also in Montauk, from 6 to 8 p.m. 

Music at Clubhouse
Mr. Casey and the Lone Sharks play on the lawn at the Clubhouse in Wainscott tonight and every Thursday from 6 to 9. Tomorrow, also 6 to 9, it's jazz night. There is live music on Saturdays, and Winston Irie and Friends play on Sunday, same time.

On the Island 
Hopefully Forgiven plays on Sundays from 4 p.m. to sunset at Salt on Shelter Island.

The Sweet Smell of Nostalgia at Sagaponack General

Stepping into the new Sagaponack General Store, which reopened yesterday after being closed since 2020, is a sweet experience, and not just because there’s a soft-serve ice cream station on the left and what promises to be the biggest penny candy selection on the South Fork on your right, but because it’s like seeing an old friend who, after some struggle, made it big. Really, really big.
