Gallery Tour
Christina Mossaides Strassfield, Guild Hall’s museum director and chief curator, will lead a free tour of the exhibition “90 Years: Selections From the Permanent Collection” on Sunday at 3 p.m.

For the exhibition, which marks the cultural center's 90th anniversary, Ms. Strassfield selected from among the museum’s 2,400 holdings 90 paintings, sculptures, photographs, and works on paper that reflect the contributions of artists of the East End from the late 19th century to the present. During her almost 30-year tenure at Guild Hall, she has been personally responsible for securing many donations to the museum.

Registration for the gallery tour is available on Guild Hall’s website.

Thanksgiving Collective
Tripoli Gallery in Wainscott is presenting its 17th annual Thanksgiving Collective through Feb. 27. The exhibition includes works by Sabra Moon Elliot, Roy Fowler, Connie Fox, Hiroyuki Hamada, Mary Heilmann, Bryan Hunt, Yung Jake, Dan McCarthy, Nour Mobarak, Makoto Ofune, Miles Partington, Matisse Patterson, Joel Perlman, Keith Sonnier, Lauren West, and Lucy Winton.

Life-Drawing Classes
The Southampton Arts Center will offer three figure-drawing workshops, led by Linda Capello, on Fridays in December, starting Friday at 1 p.m. Working from a live model, participants will explore techniques of line, mass, gesture, proportion, and foreshortening, starting with short passes and working toward one long pose.

Each class is $25, $20 for members, and registration is required. Dry mediums such as soft vine charcoal and conte (graphite), as well as kneaded erasers and 14-by-17-inch or larger pads, have been requested.

The Sweet Smell of Nostalgia at Sagaponack General

Stepping into the new Sagaponack General Store, which reopened yesterday after being closed since 2020, is a sweet experience, and not just because there’s a soft-serve ice cream station on the left and what promises to be the biggest penny candy selection on the South Fork on your right, but because it’s like seeing an old friend who, after some struggle, made it big. Really, really big.
