Forecasts are calling for windy and chilly conditions this weekend, but the Sag Harbor Chamber of Commerce’s Harborfrost festivities are set to proceed as planned. Events begin Friday night and continue through dusk on Saturday, concluding with a fireworks display at Long Wharf.
The winter celebration kicks off Friday at 5:30 p.m. with Winter Taste of Sag Harbor, featuring food and drink from around the village at the Sag Harbor Cinema’s third-floor event space and Green Room bar. Tickets, which cost $60 or $50 for chamber members, can be bought through the chamber’s website. They include wine and beer, food, and a raffle ticket. There will be a cash bar and an opportunity to bid on item sin a silent auction.
Events on Saturday begin at 10 a.m. with a kids’ hike along a StoryWalk trail at Mashashimuet Park. At noon ice carving will start at the south end of Main Street and, as the day goes on, continue down to Long Wharf. Live music at various locations including Dragon Hemp Apothecary, Kidd Squid, the Old Whalers Church, the Green Room, and Bay Street Theater will be ongoing.
Food and drinks will be available along a culinary stroll sponsored by the Sag Harbor Historical Society; $50 covers tastings at each stop. Charlie Canavan can be contacted at 631-379-2169 for tickets.
There will be some rooftop space at the Green Room at the Sag Harbor Cinema for evening fireworks viewing.
